The United States has issued a global security alert three times within five days.
Due to the escalating situation in the Middle East, the US State Department issued a global security alert again on the 22nd, advising American citizens in the Middle East to remain vigilant and cautioning other American citizens against traveling to the region. This is the third time in the past five days that the State Department has issued a global security alert to American citizens. The State Department statement said that due to the intensifying tensions in the Middle East and the complex security environment, there is a possibility of sudden escalation. American citizens currently in the Middle East should remain vigilant, exercise caution, and be prepared for potential flight cancellations, airspace closures, and travel interruptions. Some airlines in the region have postponed the resumption of previously scheduled flights, and some have canceled certain routes. At the same time, American citizens in areas outside the Middle East should reconsider their travel plans to or through the region. The statement also mentioned that US diplomatic facilities have been targets of attacks, and "Iran and groups supported by Iran may target other American interests overseas or globally as well as places related to the US and American citizens, including American companies and other institutions."
