Journalists learned from Shanghai Customs that in the first half of the year, the export of artificial intelligence-related products such as servers, optoelectronic modules, integrated circuits, industrial transformers, and storage batteries manufactured in Shanghai all achieved rapid growth. The AI computing power industrial chain has become an important driving force for Shanghai's export growth. Li Jirong, deputy director of the Statistical Analysis Department of Shanghai Customs, believes that the rapid growth of Shanghai's exports of AI-related products in the first half of the year is a structural and sustained growth driven by the iteration of leading industries such as integrated circuits and artificial intelligence. Compared to the steady growth of traditional trade categories, the AI-related industrial chain has a strong driving force, from upstream energy storage equipment and other basic components, to midstream integrated circuits, solid-state hard drives and other computing hardware, and to downstream computer servers, the AI industry has connected the entire high-end electronic foreign trade chain in Shanghai, achieving coordinated growth across all categories. Shanghai Customs statistics show that in the first half of the year, Shanghai's exports reached 1.14 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 20.1%, breaking the trillion-yuan mark for the first time in half a year. At the same time, Shanghai's exports are showing a trend of convergence and simultaneous advancement in multiple industries, with new tracks such as artificial intelligence and robots, and traditional tracks such as automobiles and ships, driving growth in both directions, with new and old industries merging and coexisting. Deputy Director of Shanghai Customs, Liu Bo, stated that in the first half of the year, Shanghai's imports and exports, exports, and imports all reached historic highs, fully demonstrating the strong resilience, vigorous vitality, and thick development potential of Shanghai's economy.
