U.S. President Donald Trump announced that starting in August 2028, there will be a 100% tariff on generic drugs, causing Indian pharmaceutical stocks to fall. The tariff rate will double one year later, reaching 200% in August 2029. India's Nifty Pharma Index dropped by 1.9%. Sun Pharma fell by 1.9%, Cipla fell by 2.6%, and Gland Pharma fell by 3.8%. In the Indonesian market, Kalbe Farma's decline was 2.7%.
