Meta's internal AI incubator is developing a competitive product benchmarked against OpenRouter, aiming to reduce code development costs.

The incubation department within Meta focused on AI products and tools is currently developing a service that benchmarks OpenRouter, by scheduling some AI tasks to run on low-cost models, achieving cost reduction. This incubator is named AAI Labs and is under the Meta Artificial Intelligence Engineering Team. Meta formed this team in March of this year, where employees can submit AI product and service proposals, prioritizing internal use, and potentially releasing them externally in the future. Internal documents show that once a proposal is approved, the company will assemble a small team to carry out development and launch the product at the right time.
