On July 21, 2026 at 19:43, a 5.0 magnitude earthquake occurred in the Mojiang Hani Autonomous County of Pu'er City, Yunnan Province. China Railway Kunming Group Co., Ltd. promptly implemented inspection measures to block the section of the China-Laos Railway from Yuanjiang to Pu'er that was affected. At 23:40 on the 21st, the departments of engineering, power supply, and electricity jointly conducted a comprehensive inspection and found no safety hazards affecting train operation.
