On the 21st, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Canadian Foreign Minister Anand in Manila. Wang Yi stated that since the beginning of this year, the relationship between China and Canada has continued to improve and develop, with increasing exchanges at all levels and emerging cooperation in various fields. In the first half of the year, bilateral trade increased by 16% year-on-year, especially with Canadian exports to China growing by 23.3%. Canadian rapeseed, beef, and other agricultural products have returned to the Chinese market, while Chinese electric cars have entered the Canadian market, providing more quality choices for the people of both countries. The facts have proven that the improvement and development of China-Canada relations are in line with the common interests of the two countries, welcomed by the peoples of both countries, and are the correct choice in history. The Chinese side is willing to work together with the Canadian side to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, prepare for the next stage of high-level exchanges, enhance political mutual trust, expand exchanges and cooperation, strengthen cooperation in global governance, artificial intelligence, and other multilateral affairs, and handle differences and sensitive issues properly, continuously enriching the content of the China-Canada new type of strategic partnership, injecting more certainty into the turbulent world.
