Saudi-led coalition: Taking necessary military action to ensure the safety of navigation in the Strait of Mandab.

On July 20th local time, the Saudi-led coalition headquarters issued a statement stating that the coalition had begun taking measures to protect the ships of alliance countries passing through the Strait of Hormuz, and would take strong and decisive measures against any threats to maritime security in accordance with international law and the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. Coalition spokesperson Turki al-Maliki stated that the coalition headquarters was taking all necessary military actions and strict measures to ensure the safe navigation of alliance countries' ships in the Strait of Hormuz, and that the actions were in accordance with international law and the relevant provisions of the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. The statement also said that any threats against commercial ships by the Houthi armed forces would be strongly retaliated against, considering such actions a blatant violation of international law and constituting illegal acts at sea.
