On July 17 at 10:00, the Central Meteorological Observatory continued to issue a yellow alert for heavy rain, and the Ministry of Transport maintained a Level III response to strong rainfall. It is expected that from 14:00 on July 17 to 14:00 on July 18, there will be heavy to torrential rain in parts of southern Shandong, southern Henan, central and northern Anhui, central and northern Jiangsu, most parts of Hubei, southern parts of Sichuan, most parts of Chongqing, northern and western parts of Guizhou, eastern and southern parts of Yunnan, western and southern parts of Guangxi, and southeastern parts of Guangdong. Among them, there will be heavy rainfall in parts of southern Shandong, northern Jiangsu, northeastern and southwestern parts of Hubei, Chongqing, and other areas may experience severe rainfall. On the morning of the 17th, the Ministry of Transport conducted video dispatches with the Chongqing Municipal Transport Commission and the Shandong Provincial Transport Department, requesting relevant transportation departments to remain vigilant, closely monitor areas with heavy rainfall and high risk of continuous rainfall, strengthen dispatching, improve work mechanisms, ensure responsibilities are fulfilled, and implement proactive defense measures of "response, inspection, and control" to prevent major accidents. They must effectively carry out prevention and response work for continuous rainfall, implement inspection and patrol measures, ensure preparedness and proactive control are in place.
