This morning, the Ministry of Water Resources held a consultation to analyze and assess the flood prevention situation nationwide, and make arrangements for the deployment of work to defend against heavy rain and floods. As of 9:00 on July 16th, 29 rivers in Jilin, Liaoning, Heilongjiang, Inner Mongolia, Tianjin and other regions are still above the warning level. From July 16th to July 18th, the upper reaches of the Songhua River in the Songliao River basin, the Mudanjiang River, the middle and lower reaches of the Liao River main stream, the Hun River and other major rivers will remain above the warning level, and the Mudanjiang River, a tributary of the Songhua River, may experience a numbered flood. From 8:00 on July 16th to 8:00 on July 17th, there is a high possibility of flash floods in some areas of southern Shanxi, western Henan, central and southern Shaanxi, northern Chongqing, central and northern Sichuan, southern Gansu, and southern Yunnan, which are under orange alert. The Ministry of Water Resources today maintains a yellow flood warning and issues an orange alert for mountain flood disasters, reminding the public in Sichuan, Gansu, Shaanxi, Shanxi and other provinces to be vigilant.
