State Council Taiwan Affairs Office: Expressing condolences to our compatriots in Taiwan affected by "Bavi".
The Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council held a routine press conference. A reporter asked: Recently, Guangxi, Hubei, Gansu and other places have been affected by wind disasters and floods. Has there been any impact on Taiwanese nationals and Taiwanese businesses? Can you provide relevant information? Spokesperson Zhu Fenglian said that the mainland attaches great importance to flood prevention and relief work for Taiwanese nationals and businesses on the mainland. Relevant information on the disaster situation of Taiwanese nationals and businesses in the affected areas was promptly collected, and various work such as emergency rescue, resettlement, assistance, and support was carried out simultaneously. It is understood that Taiwanese nationals in Guangxi, Hubei, and Gansu are all safe and sound, while some Taiwanese-funded enterprises in Guangxi have suffered varying degrees of economic losses. The Taiwan Affairs Office is actively collaborating with Guangxi to help the affected Taiwanese enterprises overcome difficulties and resume production as soon as possible. We have also noticed that many areas in Taiwan have been affected by Typhoon "Bavi." We extend our condolences to our Taiwanese compatriots affected by the disaster, and sincerely hope that they will soon restore normal production and living order.
