Gold prices rose more than 1.2% on the day of the release of US CPI inflation data, while palladium rose 4.1%.
On Tuesday in New York, spot gold rose 1.25% to $4052.31 per ounce. At 08:08 Beijing time, it dipped slightly to $3983.74, hitting a daily low. It held steady around $4020 from 10:00 to 20:29, rose during the release of US CPI data, and reached a daily high of $4102.23 at 20:33. COMEX gold futures rose 1.29% to $4057.20 per ounce. Spot silver rose 1.79% to $58.6896 per ounce, while COMEX silver futures rose 1.77% to $59 per ounce. COMEX copper futures rose 1.35% to $6.3660 per pound. Spot platinum rose 1.50%, and spot palladium rose 4.10%.
