A white paper released by the well-known global scientific publishing institution Springer Nature Group on the 13th revealed that as of July 2025, nearly 40% of citations for open access articles published by Chinese researchers in 2022 came from outside of China. China's open access research results are increasingly attracting international attention. According to the white paper titled "Promoting Impact through Open Access: China's Golden Open Access Promotes Global Innovation, Benefits the Global South," as of July 2025, open access articles published by Chinese researchers in 2022 received over 1.53 million citations from researchers outside of China, with over 742,000 citations coming from researchers in the Global South. This indicates that Chinese research achievements are increasingly drawing international attention, and demonstrates the important role that open access plays in supporting global knowledge exchange.
