The supply chain pointed out that all new factory projects of TSMC are almost 24-hour shifts to accelerate the construction progress. Equipment vendors stated that according to information released by TSMC, the monthly production capacity of CoWoS is expected to be over 30,000 pieces in 2024, reaching 70,000 pieces in 2025, originally planned to be 110,000 pieces by the end of 2026, but eventually surpassing 130,000. Expansion target in 2027 is around 200,000 pieces, but it should be lower than the target. The market is optimistic that by the end of 2027, the monthly production capacity of CoWoS is expected to increase to 240,000 to 260,000 pieces. However, TSMC has not yet established the order allocation for equipment vendors, causing concerns in the supply chain about the formation of a competitive atmosphere and price reduction. In addition, suppliers are worried that they may not be able to deliver equipment on time, as the timeline from placing an order to production and delivery is at least 7 to 9 months.
