Due to continuous rainfall, the Yu River in the Pearl River Basin has experienced its largest flood since 2001. The Ministry of Water Resources work group has been continuously guiding flood prevention work in the severely affected area of Guigang in Guangxi for several days, putting the protection of people's lives as the top priority and strictly preventing major secondary disasters. At 12:00 on the 9th, the water level of the Yu River reached 44.96 meters, exceeding the warning water level by 3.76 meters. Guigang focused on key points along the river such as the embankments, sluice gates, and low-lying areas, conducting embankment reinforcement, hidden danger investigation, and drainage emergency responses. According to the consultation results of the Ministry of Water Resources and comprehensive analysis of weather forecasts, rainfall in Guangxi will gradually weaken from the 10th onwards, and river water levels will continue to steadily recede. Currently, local authorities are seizing the opportunity to accelerate reservoir hazard removal, intensify embankment inspections, and ensure the safety of people's lives and properties.
