In the first half of the year, a total of 11,400 cases of crimes involving obstruction of border management were investigated nationwide.
At the press conference held by the National Immigration Administration today, it was learned that in the first half of the year, immigration management agencies across the country always put safeguarding national political security first, adhere to strict, standardized, fair and civilized law enforcement, crack down on crimes that hinder border management according to law, concentrate efforts on solving cases, focus on dismantling criminal gangs, cutting off channels, targeting "snakeheads", destroying networks, resolutely building a strong barrier for national border security and stability, and resolutely safeguarding national sovereignty, security and development interests. A total of 11,400 cases of crimes obstructing border management were investigated, with over 22,400 criminal suspects arrested, 157 major criminal gangs busted, 88 major cases listed for special supervision, and a number of cross-border illegal criminals including "snakeheads" captured through international law enforcement cooperation. Efforts continue to be made to deeply govern illegal entry, illegal residence, and illegal employment of foreigners, resulting in the repatriation of 11,900 individuals. Illegal activities involving firearms, explosives, drug trafficking, and smuggling at ports and borders were severely cracked down on according to law, with 209 drug cases cracked, 305 criminal suspects arrested, and 4.37 tons of various drugs confiscated, including 45 cases involving over 10,000 grams; 603 firearms and over 27,000 bullets were seized.
