To defend against Typhoon "Bavi", more than 2000 tons of grain have been stockpiled in various areas of Wenzhou.
Typhoon "Bavi", the 9th typhoon of the year, weakened from a super typhoon to a strong typhoon last night. The Central Meteorological Observatory continued to issue a typhoon orange alert at 6 o'clock this morning. In order to minimize the impact of the typhoon and reduce food losses, the Grain and Material Reserve Bureau of Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province, seized the opportunity of a brief sunny weather before the influence of Typhoon "Bavi" and initiated emergency grain harvesting plans to compete against time and "grab grains" from the typhoon. In Rui'an, Mayu Grain Reserve Warehouse pre-emptively vacated sufficient storage space, and at the same time, all staff of the Grain Warehouse worked overtime, provided extended services, opened the warehouse early in the morning, and worked overtime at night to ensure that the harvested early rice was smoothly stored. By noon on the 9th, a total of 2252.357 tons of summer grains had been harvested in Wenzhou. 25 compliant purchase points were set up, and 154,000 tons of effective purchase storage space were vacated. 535 sets of various specialized equipment for testing, transportation, cleaning, etc. were provided.
