Gansu issues orange weather alert for mountainous flood disasters.
According to CCTV news, the Office of the Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters of Gansu Province issued an orange alert for mountain flood disasters on July 10 at 0:00. The Gansu Provincial Department of Water Resources and the Gansu Provincial Meteorological Bureau predict that in the past 6 hours, more than 50 millimeters of precipitation has occurred in the central part of Linxia Prefecture and the northern part of Gannan Prefecture in Gansu Province, with the highest cumulative precipitation of 81.1 millimeters in Linxia City. Over the next 24 hours, there will be local heavy rain in parts of Dingxi and the eastern part of Linxia, the northern part of Gannan, the southern part of Lanzhou, the central and southern parts of Baiyin, and the northwestern part of Longnan, with the maximum cumulative rainfall of 40-80 millimeters, locally up to 90-120 millimeters, and hourly rainfall intensity of 40-70 millimeters. Due to heavy rainfall, from 0:00 on July 10 to 0:00 on July 11, there is a high possibility of flash floods in Dingxi, Linxia, Gannan, Lanzhou, Baiyin, Longnan, Tianshui, Pingliang, and other areas; other areas may also experience flash floods due to short-term heavy rainfall. Relevant departments are advised to pay attention to real-time monitoring, flood warning, and evacuation of people in dangerous areas for prevention.
