After completing the relevant investigation, the United States has decided not to impose tariffs on commercial aircraft, jet engines, and their components. President Trump has instead instructed the government to negotiate with trading partners to adjust the import of these products. A report submitted by US Commerce Secretary Ross previously identified imports of commercial aircraft, jet engines, and related components as a threat to national security. The conclusion of this investigation leaves room for future tariff imposition - if the US fails to reach an agreement with trading partners to resolve the issue, Trump may take further tariff measures. According to a document released by the White House, if the relevant agreement is not reached within 180 days or the agreement is deemed "ineffective," Trump "may also take other actions deemed necessary" to eliminate this threat.
