Guangxi responds to the current situation of Liulan Reservoir: The water level of Liulan Reservoir is decreasing, but the reservoir capacity and flow rate are basically stable.
Today, the press conference on flood prevention and disaster relief in Nanning, Guangxi reported that the six blue and Yunbiao reservoirs in Hengzhou City were built in 1958 and are medium-sized reservoirs with homogeneous earth dam bodies. Starting from July 6, water conservancy experts went to the site to provide guidance on emergency relief, assess the reservoirs with seepage breaches, closely monitor changes in water levels, inspect dam deformations, analyze discharge flow rates, study measures to lower water levels, and prevent further risks. "Currently, the water level of the six blue reservoir has dropped below the dam foundation, and the reservoir breach and flow rate have stabilized; repair work on the road to the dam of the six blue reservoir started on the 8th, and as of this morning, it has been repaired to the top of the dam; starting from today, river dredging and desilting will be organized. Since the water level of the Yunbiao reservoir has basically dropped to the dead water level, the impact of the reservoir on the downstream flood areas will stabilize if there is no significant inflow from the upstream. At the same time, a city-wide inspection of hidden dangers in water conservancy projects will be organized again, focusing on inspecting reservoirs in areas affected by heavy rainfall and operation reservoirs operating above flood control limits, promptly addressing any hidden dangers discovered."
