The NATO summit in the Turkish capital Ankara concluded on the 8th. Turkish President Erdogan gave the attending leaders a "special" gift: a revolver engraved with their own names, along with a box of ammunition. According to the British newspaper The Guardian, British Prime Minister Stammer revealed this news to reporters on the return flight on the 8th. He said that his name was engraved on the revolver, and Erdogan also included a letter lifting Turkey's export restrictions on the firearm so that the attending leaders could take the gift back to their countries. However, Stammer ultimately decided to leave the revolver at the British Embassy in Turkey, citing that it would still be illegal in the UK even if it were brought back by a government plane.
