Citigroup: Bank of Korea may raise interest rates to 2.75% next week, and is expected to maintain a gradual tightening pace in the second half of the year.

Citibank expects the Bank of Korea to raise its benchmark interest rate by 25 basis points to 2.75% at the monetary policy meeting scheduled for July 16. Citibank economist Jin-Wook Kim stated in a report that Governor Lee Ju-yeol may hint at a gradual tightening policy after the meeting, in order to balance inflation control and economic growth.
