Italian UniCredit Bank CEO Andrea Orcel is one step closer to taking control of Deutsche Bank. With enough investors exercising their rights, the potential stake of this Italian bank in Deutsche Bank has increased to 47.6%. According to a statement released on July 8, as of the acceptance deadline of July 3, shares representing 17.6% of Deutsche Bank's capital have been exercised, including over 5% of shares exercised during a two-week extension period. UniCredit Bank previously held slightly less than 30% of shares, including physical shares and derivatives convertible into shares.
