According to the South Korean Printed Circuit Board and Semiconductor Packaging Industry Association, Samsung and SK Hynix are requesting a decrease in prices from upstream board manufacturers due to market demand exceeding supply and frequent price increases. In the latest price negotiations with board suppliers, they are asking for a reduction in prices, intending to withdraw the average price increase of about 3% to 4% in the first quarter of this year. It is reported that the reason for Samsung and SK Hynix's insistence on reducing prices is that at the beginning of this year, due to the rise in raw materials such as gold and copper, they accepted a price increase of about 3% to 4% from board manufacturers. However, as raw material prices have recently stabilized, they believe that prices in the second half of the year should revert to the levels before the price increases.
