In the first year after Donald Trump returned to the White House, he conducted more than 21,000 securities trades, often occurring during market events triggered by him. According to his 2025 financial disclosure documents, the total amount of these trades ranged from $600 million to $1.86 billion; the document listed a wide range of transaction values. Many trades involved large companies that do business with the federal government. Analysis of the report shows that Trump averaged 85 trades per trading day. About one-fourth of all trades executed in 2025 were concentrated within 10 trading days. Many trades took place after Trump announced policy adjustments, amid heightened Wall Street volatility. There were also inconsistencies between Trump's eight independent trading accounts: more than 200 instances where he bought a stock through one account on the same day and sold the same stock through another account.
