European stock markets hit a new record high at the close.

The European STOXX 600 index closed up 1.57% at 649.35 points, hitting a new closing high again after one trading day. The Eurozone STOXX 50 index closed up 1.40% at 6370.08 points, also reaching a new closing high. The FTSEurofirst 300 index closed up 1.62% at 2601.96 points.
