Portugal's high temperature warning with temperatures reaching up to 47 degrees Celsius.
The Portuguese government issued a high temperature warning on July 1, strengthening wildfire prevention and control, increasing protection for vulnerable groups, to cope with the upcoming heatwave. Portuguese Interior Minister Lus Neves said that the local temperature in the next few days could reach up to 47 degrees Celsius. He urged the public to remain highly vigilant and avoid any dangerous behavior that could potentially cause fires. The Portuguese Institute for Ocean and Atmosphere stated that starting from July 2, 12 out of the 18 regions in mainland Portugal will be under a red high temperature warning, expected to last at least until the 4th. The remaining 6 regions will be under an orange high temperature warning. Portugal's weather warnings are categorized into gray, green, yellow, orange, and red, with orange indicating moderate to high risk weather conditions, and red indicating high-risk weather conditions.
