Digital Realty, a US company, acquired $3.5 billion worth of equity in Blackstone's North Virginia data center, consolidating 288 MW of leased assets to strengthen its position in the AI computing power market.
According to the Smart Financial APP, Digital Realty Trust Inc. (DLR.US), the world's largest cloud and operator-neutral data center platform, announced on Monday (June 29th) that it has agreed to acquire a majority stake in three ultra-large-scale data centers in Northern Virginia owned by Blackstone Group (BX.US) for a total consideration of $3.5 billion. The transaction will be paid with $1.2 billion in cash and $2.3 billion in Digital Realty stock, with a total asset value of $7.8 billion.
