On June 29th local time, President Trump of the United States stated to the media at the White House that today (June 30th) the United States and Iran will hold talks in the Qatari capital Doha. Trump said that the US representatives "may have already departed or are getting ready to do so" for this meeting, which "may be important or may not be important," but that the US "has already won militarily," "oil prices have dropped and Iran has agreed not to possess nuclear weapons." According to previous reports from US media, after both the US and Iran agreed to suspend military actions following two days of mutual attacks last weekend, they are scheduled to meet today in Doha in an attempt to resolve the dispute over the Strait of Hormuz. The White House stated that the participants in the Doha talks will be President's envoy Brian Hook and Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner. However, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Baghaei emphasized on June 29th local time that Iran will not hold any level of talks with the US in the coming days. Baghaei said that Iran will send a delegation of experts to Doha this week to follow up on relevant matters, but the visit of the US representatives to Doha is unrelated to the Iranian expert delegation.
