On the morning of the 27th, the left line shield machine of the Xiamen-Jinmen Bridge Roundabout Tunnel officially started. The Xiamen-Jinmen Bridge project includes two main parts: the sea bridge and the underground engineering. The Roundabout Tunnel is 3.29 kilometers long, designed for two-way six lanes, with a speed limit of 80 kilometers per hour, and includes both shield and cut-and-cover tunnels. The shield tunnel has two lines, with the right line starting in June last year and piercing through in March this year. The left line starting this time is 1.33 kilometers long. In response to the risks of complex strata and multiple construction, the shield machine "Xiajin No.1" is equipped with the first domestically developed heavy-duty shield replacement robot in the country. This robot can not only reduce the time for each blade change, improve construction efficiency, but also completely eliminate the various safety hazards of traditional manual blade change, providing key technical support for continuous, safe, and efficient excavation. The Xiamen-Jinmen Bridge is 19.6 kilometers long. After the project is completed and opened to traffic, it will establish a new three-dimensional transportation pattern in the Taiwan Strait with Xiamen Xiang'an International Airport and the Xiamen-Jinmen route, which is of great significance for exploring new paths for cross-strait integration and development in Fujian Province and building a demonstration area for cross-strait integration and development.
