Sam Ho Wai Fai: Macau hopes to work with APEC member economies to explore new paths in Asia-Pacific tourism.
The 13th APEC Tourism Ministers' Meeting will be held in Macao on the 27th. On the evening of the 26th, the Macao SAR Government and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China hosted a welcome dinner for the participants. When delivering his speech, the Chief Executive of the Macao SAR, Ho Iat Seng, stated that as one of the most important economic cooperation platforms in the Asia-Pacific region, this APEC Tourism Ministers' Meeting is not only a grand event for the tourism industry, but also an important series of events for the "APEC China Year". Macao hopes to deepen exchanges with the member economies of APEC on sustainable development experiences in the tourism industry and jointly explore new paths for Asia-Pacific tourism cooperation. Ho Iat Seng also mentioned that the overall economic and social development in Macao is good with a bright future, especially as the tourism industry continues to show steady recovery momentum. We look forward to exchanging experiences on sustainable tourism development with representatives from member economies and jointly exploring new paths for Asia-Pacific tourism cooperation.
