Kim Jong Un observes artillery and missile related weapon tests.
According to a report by the Korean Central News Agency on the 26th, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, also the chairman of the State Affairs Commission, observed the modernization of artillery and missile related weapons tests on the 25th. The report stated that the tests included an upgraded version of the 240mm 24-tube rocket launcher, tactical ballistic missiles, and extended range shells for the 155mm self-propelled howitzer. The upgraded version of the rocket launcher has an automated operating system and uses precision self-guidance systems, increasing its range to 90 kilometers. The tactical ballistic missile with "special mission warheads" aims to deliver "lethal and destructive blows" to important targets such as enemy airfields, ports, and power facilities. The 65-kilometer extended range shells tested for the 155mm self-propelled howitzer "also have significant military significance". Kim Jong-un stated that this test is an important opportunity to demonstrate North Korea's military construction strategy and the significant technological progress made in achieving automation, long-range capabilities, and ultra-precision. Kim Jong-un also stated that North Korea's self-defensive national defense policy is not simply about enhancing defense capabilities, but strengthening lethal and destructive offensive postures to make the enemy feel uneasy and fearful, deter war, and this is North Korea's defensive concept in military construction and military operations.
