The Iran Persian Gulf Strait Authority announced on social media on the 26th that all vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz must follow the prescribed routes and procedures. Vessels that deviate from the designated routes will not be guaranteed safety or insurance coverage. The announcement stated that all consequences resulting from unauthorized deviation from the designated routes will be the responsibility of the vessel owners, operators, and captains. Earlier, Iran issued a notice on the 19th stating that within the timeframe specified in the memorandum of understanding, vessels that submit their navigation applications to the Persian Gulf Strait Authority as required will have their navigation arrangements handled promptly. The requirements include: submitting the application 48 hours before arrival in the strait area, submitting the application through the department's website or email, and coordinating the routes and navigation times in advance according to the announcement.
