Google is reportedly losing two key AI employees.
The stock price of Alphabet, Google's parent company, plunged during Wednesday's trading session as sources revealed that two top artificial intelligence researchers at Google, Jonas Adler and Alexander Pritzel, are planning to resign and join competitor Anthropic. This news further fuels concerns from the public that the leading position of this search giant in the field of AI may be weakened. Just last week, Noam Shazeer, co-lead of Google Gemini, announced his departure from Google to join OpenAI, which has secretly submitted an IPO application to the SEC. Following this, John Jumper, winner of the 2024 Nobel Prize in Chemistry and core leader of AlphaFold, also announced his departure from Google DeepMind to join Anthropic.
