Spain experiences the first heatwave of the summer, with record high average daily temperatures in June.

The Spanish National Meteorological Agency reported on the 24th that under the first round of heatwaves of the year, the country has broken the record for the highest June daily average temperature for two consecutive days, with temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius in many areas. The heatwave has been affecting most parts of Spain since the 21st and is expected to continue until the evening of the 24th. Highest level heat warnings have been issued in multiple areas. Preliminary data shows that on the 22nd and 23rd, the national average temperature in Spain was 7.1 degrees Celsius higher than normal for the same period in previous years, reaching a new high for daily average temperature in June. Meanwhile, there has been a noticeable increase in medical cases related to the high temperatures.
