The national oil companies of Mexico and Brazil have agreed to cooperate in exploration, production, and refining of oil to help these two Latin American energy giants expand their oil reserves. The CEO of Mexico's national oil company, Pemex, and Brazil's national oil company, Petrobras, announced during an event held in Rio de Janeiro that they have signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding to collaborate in exploration and production, including in shallow water and deepwater areas in the Gulf of Mexico, as well as in refining, natural gas, petrochemical products, and other areas.
