Yunnan Tea Association calls for the regulation of Pu'er Tea live streaming rooms.
The Tea Industry Association of Yunnan Province issued a statement on June 22 calling for strict regulation and urging reform in the live streaming rooms of Yunnan Pu'er tea. The statement pointed out that the operators of Pu'er tea live streaming rooms, most of whom were originally from the jade jewelry industry, have shifted to this new business without a long-term vision or sense of integrity. They are constantly walking on the red line of policies and are suspected of engaging in activities such as monopolizing, counterfeiting, false advertising, and other forms of infringement. The collapse of the jade jewelry industry in Yunnan serves as a cautionary tale. The association has recommended to relevant departments to crack down on the live streaming rooms mentioned in the statement, impose heavy penalties on those who violate the law, and even ban them from engaging in e-commerce live streaming in the future. According to relevant laws and regulations, an immediate investigation into all Pu'er tea live streaming rooms in the province should be conducted to eliminate any bad actors from the industry.
