Car circulation consumption reform pilot projects and the cultivation and expansion of the automotive aftermarket consumption are important levers for China to expand the entire chain of automotive consumption. On June 23, the Ministry of Commerce and other departments issued two notices to further promote the expansion of the entire chain of automotive consumption. On that day, the Ministry of Commerce and 8 other departments issued a notice, announcing 40 cities as pilot cities for automotive circulation consumption reform and their key reform and innovation directions. For example, Tianjin focuses on car modification, traditional classic cars, and car events; Shenyang, Liaoning focuses on the circulation of used cars; Yangzhou, Jiangsu focuses on RV camping; Weinan, Shaanxi focuses on recycling scrapped cars, and so on. The notice requires each pilot city to combine local industrial characteristics, market characteristics, resource endowment, location conditions, functional positioning, and other practical conditions, to improve reform and innovation measures, cultivate new scenarios, new formats, and new models of automotive consumption, and promote the integrated development of commerce, tourism, culture, sports, and health. At the same time, the Ministry of Commerce and 9 other departments simultaneously issued a notice on several measures to promote the cultivation and expansion of the automotive aftermarket consumption. The notice proposes 17 measures in six aspects including standardizing the orderly development of automotive modifications, supporting the development of the RV camping industry, cultivating new formats of traditional classic cars, optimizing the supply of automotive maintenance and insurance services, actively developing automotive sports events, and promoting innovative and integrated development of car rental.
