Wang Yi meets with South African President's Office Minister Ein 'Shea-Venning

On June 22, 2026, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Director of the Central Foreign Affairs Office, met with Encha Saveni, Minister of the South African Presidency, in New Delhi. Wang Yi stated that China and South Africa, as representatives of emerging economies and founding members of BRICS, have always firmly upheld multilateralism, advocated for the democratization of international relations, maintained close high-level exchanges, deepened practical cooperation in various fields, and become a model of solidarity and cooperation among global Southern countries. In the current situation where unilateralism and the law of the jungle harm the legitimate rights and interests of all countries and undermine the norms of international relations, as the backbone of the global South, it is necessary for BRICS countries to strengthen unity and cooperation, jointly uphold the banner of BRICS as a united development force of developing countries, and work together to defend international equity and justice, and safeguard world peace and stability.
