The relevant officials of the National Energy Administration answered questions from reporters on the "Implementation Measures for the Target of the Lowest Proportion of Renewable Energy Consumption and the Weighting System for the Responsibility for Renewable Energy Power Consumption". In recent years, emerging industries such as computing facilities, 5G base stations, and charging infrastructure have developed rapidly, leading to an explosive increase in electricity demand, which will become an important part of future electricity consumption growth. It is estimated that during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the annual average increase in national electricity consumption for computing power will exceed 100 billion kilowatt-hours. Including these industries in the assessment will help accelerate the promotion of clean energy electricity covering the incremental increase in electricity consumption throughout society, injecting new momentum into green and low-carbon development for society as a whole. The manufacturing industry of new energy sectors such as polysilicon and lithium-ion batteries is a key link and important support in building a green energy industry chain. Including these industries in the assessment is essentially to implement the requirements of integrated development and accelerate the promotion of "green construction" to clearly define the requirements for green energy consumption for enterprises producing clean energy equipment, gradually establishing a green industrial chain supply chain that collaborates on carbon reduction both upstream and downstream.
