Ministry of Transport: By 2025, the total mileage of high-speed railways in the country will exceed 50,000 kilometers, and the volume of commercial freight transport will reach 587 billion tons.

According to the Wise Financial APP, on June 22, the Ministry of Transport issued the statistical bulletin on the development of the transportation industry in 2025. In 2025, the total fixed asset investment in transportation nationwide reached 3.709 trillion yuan. The railway and rail transit sectors maintained structural expansion, with strong growth in freight and express delivery demand, and outstanding performance in international routes and international freight. By the end of the year, the national railway operating mileage reached 165,000 kilometers, with high-speed railway operating mileage of 50,000 kilometers. The total mileage of highways was 5.579 million kilometers, including 199,400 kilometers of expressways; the navigable mileage of inland waterways was 128,700 kilometers; there were 270 civil transport airports; there were 341 urban rail transit operating lines with a total operating mileage of 11,651 kilometers.
