Early on June 22nd Beijing time, in the second round of Group H of the World Cup involving the United States, Canada, and Mexico, Uruguay faced Cape Verde. In the 21st minute, Cape Verde player Kevin Pina scored the first ever World Cup goal for Cape Verde through a free kick. Currently, Uruguay is leading Cape Verde 2-1.
