According to CNN, after Iran announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz on Saturday, the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy department warned all types of ships not to approach the waterway. A journalist from Iran's state broadcaster said that the Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy had issued a warning message via radio broadcast and directly contacted ships in the area. The warning stated that ships attempting to cross the strait might encounter mines or become targets of the Iranian Navy. The journalist also said that the traffic of ships in the Persian Gulf had "further decreased" in the past few hours.
