The struggle for the massive family wealth of the heir to RayBan continues to escalate.
Leonardo Maria del Vecchio, heir to the founder of Ray-Ban Business Empire, released an open letter publicly requesting the family holding company to support his acquisition of the shares held by his two siblings. Del Vecchio plans to acquire the shares of the Luxottica Group held by his siblings Luca and Paola, which would increase his shareholding and make him the largest shareholder of the group. Whether this transaction will go through depends on whether a complex financing plan can be successfully finalized. Del Vecchio stated that the board of directors of the Luxottica Group has not been able to provide a unified and transparent response to the demands of lending institutions for clear future dividends and corporate development strategies to enhance certainty.
