The State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters has initiated a level four flood prevention emergency response in Jiangsu province.

On June 19, the State Flood Control Office and the Ministry of Emergency Management organized a joint meeting with the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Water Resources, the China Meteorological Administration and other departments to analyze the recent trend of rainfall development and to study the deployment of flood prevention work in key areas. The State Flood Control Office initiated a Level IV emergency response for flood prevention in Jiangsu, while maintaining Level IV emergency response for flood prevention in Zhejiang, Anhui, Jiangxi, Hubei, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Chongqing, Guizhou, and Yunnan. Chen Min, Director of the State Flood Control Office and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Emergency Management and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Water Resources, presided over the meeting.
