Japanese core CPI has been rising for 57 consecutive months.
According to data released by the Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications on June 19, the core consumer price index (CPI) in Japan in May, excluding fresh food, was 113.0, an increase of 1.4% year-on-year. This marks the 57th consecutive month of year-on-year increases in Japan's core CPI. The data shows that food prices in that month continued to rise significantly. Excluding fresh food, food prices rose by 3.5% year-on-year.
