According to the forecast, from June 18th to 25th, areas in the northern and western parts of Jianghuai, Jiangnan, and Hubei will continue to experience heavy to torrential rain, with some areas experiencing severe rainstorms. Vice Commander of the National Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters and Minister of Water Resources Li Guoying has made specific arrangements for the prevention of the upcoming heavy rain. In accordance with the "Emergency Response Regulations for Flood and Drought Prevention of the Ministry of Water Resources", the Ministry of Water Resources has activated a Level IV emergency response for flood prevention in Anhui, Jiangxi, Hubei, Hunan, and Guizhou provinces starting from 12:00 on June 18th. Local water resources departments and relevant basin management agencies are required to closely monitor weather changes, strengthen monitoring and forecasting of rainfall and water levels, conduct consultations and assessments, and be prepared for emergency responses. They are also instructed to manage water engineering operations, prevent floods in medium and small rivers, and prevent mountain torrents to ensure the safety of people's lives and property. Targeted warnings have been issued to the relevant provinces, providing a list of counties covered by heavy rain, reservoir names, risk areas and points for mountain torrent disasters, and reminding them to strengthen defense measures. Three working groups have been sent to Guizhou, Hubei, and Hunan provinces to assist and guide in flood prevention work. The Ministry of Water Resources is currently maintaining a Level IV emergency response for flood prevention in Fujian, Guangdong, and Guangxi provinces.
