According to the Securities Times APP, Ashley Alder, Chief Executive Officer of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission, stated on June 17th at the 2026 Lujiazui Forum that currently, global geopolitical tensions continue to escalate, uncertainty in the capital markets is increasing, and sovereign funds and private equity funds are actively seeking asset diversification and security. This has led to a strong interest in the fixed income market, with Renminbi assets represented by Chinese government bonds gradually becoming an important option for non-dollar asset allocation. Alder mentioned that the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission will continue to support the Hong Kong Exchange in launching more Renminbi denominated currency futures, Renminbi-denominated gold futures, and structured fixed income products, and will cooperate with overseas regulatory authorities to include Renminbi stock trading counters in the Hong Kong Stock Connect as soon as possible.
