Musk's another good friend joins the board of SpaceX, has previously served for a long time in Sequoia Capital.
Musk has appointed another close friend and long-time ally to join the SpaceX board. In documents submitted on Wednesday, SpaceX stated that Roelof Botha will immediately serve as an independent director and member of the audit committee, becoming the eighth member of the board. Botha has been working at Sequoia Capital since 2003, eventually rising to managing partner in 2022 before stepping down last year. He is now an advisor at Sequoia Capital and is listed on their website as a member of the seed and early-stage team as well as the growth team. In 2000, during the early days of PayPal, Musk recruited Botha to join, both hailing from South Africa. Sequoia Capital has been a key supporter of Musk's companies, investing in SpaceX, Neuralink, and The Boring Company, and participating in Musk's leveraged acquisition of Twitter.
