National Bureau of Statistics: Industrial investment in January to May increased by 0.1% year-on-year.

The National Bureau of Statistics released the basic situation of national fixed asset investment from January to May 2026. During this period, the national fixed asset investment was 17.8512 trillion yuan, a decrease of 4.1% year-on-year. Among them, investment in intellectual property products increased by 9.3% year-on-year. Broken down by industry, investment in the primary industry was 388.7 billion yuan, an increase of 5.9%; investment in the secondary industry was 649.89 billion yuan, an increase of 0.1%; investment in the tertiary industry was 1.09636 trillion yuan, a decrease of 6.8%. Industrial investment increased by 0.1% year-on-year. Among them, investment in mining increased by 6.2%, investment in manufacturing decreased by 0.4%, and investment in electricity, heat, gas, and water production and supply decreased by 0.1%. Infrastructure investment increased by 0.6% year-on-year. Among them, investment in water transport increased by 23.3%, investment in air transport increased by 21.7%, investment in ecological protection and environmental governance increased by 3.5%, and investment in gas production and supply increased by 2.8%. By region, investment in the eastern region declined by 6.4% year-on-year, investment in the central region declined by 2.9%, investment in the western region declined by 6.6%, and investment in the northeastern region declined by 17.5%.
