With multiple refineries increasing production, pushing sales of petroleum products to historic highs, Canada's manufacturing activity further increased in April. The Canadian Statistics Bureau stated on Monday that after seasonal adjustments, factory shipments increased by 4.2% month-on-month in April, reaching 77.05 billion Canadian dollars. Manufacturing sales have increased for the third consecutive month, with April's increase being the largest in over four years, although lower than the 4.6% estimated by the Statistics Bureau. Compared to the same period last year, sales increased by 10.6%. In terms of actual sales volume, sales increased by 1.8% month-on-month in April, reaching 55.59 billion Canadian dollars, an increase of 1.7% year-on-year. Sales of oil and coal products increased by 22.6% month-on-month, reaching 11.77 billion Canadian dollars, following a 25.5% increase in March. This increase was mainly driven by an increase in sales volume, with actual sales volume in April increasing by 17.5%.
